H.E.L.P. Volunteer Training

ESOL Volunteer Tutor Workshop

H.E.L.P. is offering an ESOL volunteer Tutor Workshop to help the student in our area who needs to learn English as a Second Language.  According to the 2000 Census there are 1,215 adults in the Washington County area who need these services.

Date: Monday December 7, 2009

Time:  5:30 pm – 8:30 pm

Where:  Meadowview Community Center, Meadowview, VA

Sallie Garrett will conduct the workshop to introduce tutors to the materials used and to determine the interest in providing these services.  Participants will learn to work with adults who need to learn communication and survival skills.

Helping someone of another culture is educational and rewarding.  Call Sallie Garrett, Executive Director of H.E.L.P. or Judy Hurd at 276-944-5144 to register by Wednesday, December 2, 2009.
